Ryan Carpenter

Strong First Certified Kettlebell Instuctor

Hi, I’m Ryan. I cannot wait to be working with all of you on your health and wellness goals. I know it can be difficult to commit to the hard work, but I thought I would share my story in hopes to motivate you, and prove that if you put your mind to it - you can! And I’m here to help you along the way.

When I left active duty with the United States Marine Corp. I really started to struggle to keep in shape. Gone was the structure and regiment of service, which left me to fend for myself. I couldn’t get motivated to work out on my own. I would make excuse, after excuse as to why I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) work out. And then came the weight gain. It wasn’t until I chose sobriety that I found a new passion for working out.

But, don’t get me wrong, it took time to find my new normal. I found that I started replacing alcohol with sugar (give me all the candy), and I realized that not only do I need to set fitness goals, I really needed to focus on refining my nutrition. I started making smarter choices with my diet and integrated some light training. I began losing weight and my training started to evolve.

Enter - the Kettlebell workout - I started learning about Kettlebell workouts and they really appealed to me. I fell in love with the fact that one chunk of metal could work your body in so many ways. I joined a local gym that focused on Kettlebell training and started seeing immediate improvements to my strength and conditioning, and the weight loss was undeniable. I loved that the training had low impact on my joints, and the gains I was making in my overall strength - that was it - I was sold!

In July 2020, I flew to Chicago to complete my StrongFirst Kettlebell certification. I wanted to share my passion for Kettlebell training with others and I couldn’t think of a better way than to become an instructor. In 5 short years, I’ve gone from being morbidly overweight to being the strongest, healthiest, and happiest I have ever been. And now, I have the opportunity to share this with all of you. I cannot wait to help you achieve your fitness goals. To build strength and community within a fun, safe environment. And believe me, we will have fun.
